We know, it might be nicer to watch Jillian Michaels showing us this treadmill, but as Craig says, “I’m beautiful too!” So we will be happy to watch Craig demonstrate how this machine offers both a 40-degree incline and a 6-degree “downhill”–pretty cool!
Watch as Craig & Hut show some of the great features of the NordicTrack Incline Trainer in this month’s video:
Craig: How are you doing?
Hut: I’m doing great. How are you doing, buddy?
Craig: I’m good. We’re spicing it up a little bit today; I’m pretty excited. We’re out in Grapevine, Texas. We’ve got a gentleman named Brad Alford managing the store out here and this store rocks. We should come out here more often. This is going to be fun.
Hut: I think this is the first time we’ve done a video in this store, which is sad.
Craig: It is. Well, we’ve got to get out here more often.
Hut: There are just so many stores. It’s so hard.
Craig: It is, it’s tough. We’re growing, man; it’s difficult to keep track of everything. But we’ve got to give love to Brad, so that’s what we’re here to do today. We’re going to show this NordicTrack Incline Trainer.
Hut: Yes, well, why don’t you dive in?
Craig: Let me just first start off by saying I know that the people they show on this… like Jillian Michaels is beautiful and in really good shape, but I’m beautiful too! And I think that watching me on here is going to be almost as exciting.
Hut: It is. I mean, I could watch you all day.
Craig: I love Hut! Here’s the big thing. We’ve been selling the NordicTrack Incline Trainer–it’s been a really hot item for us. This is called an X11i and as you can see, it feels like I’m climbing Mount Everest.
Hut: I’ve never seen anything like this.
Craig: This goes up to 40 degrees elevation. All of the treadmills that we have go up to 15 degrees. These treadmills go to 40. The whole idea behind that is that if I get the treadmill up to 40 degrees, your heart rate is going to go way up.
Hut: You’re able to increase the intensity without actually increasing the speed as much.
Craig: Exactly, and a lot of people can’t go fast because of their joints…
Hut: So how can they increase the intensity on a regular treadmill?
Craig: What happens if you ever have a stress test at the doctor’s office? They get you on a treadmill and incline that thing up, right?
Craig: That’s what’s going to get your heart rate up the fastest. Well, this is going to do the exact same thing. What’s really cool about this treadmill though, is that not only does it incline to 40 degrees, which is huge for us, and you can keep it nice and slow… I was barely walking and my heart rate is jacked, and I’m in incredible shape.
Hut: Yes, you are in amazing shape.
Craig: So you can actually take this treadmill though, down, and you’re going to see this in a second as we’re talking. I can go below the ground. I can go negative 6 degrees downhill too.
Hut: Wow. That’s great.
Craig: It’s cool because you can do a lot of training. What happens is, people who… let’s say they’re training for a marathon or they’re going out there to even do their 5K. They only train on a treadmill, which is great–we like that. We want them to get on a treadmill, come in our stores, get those, because the weather is bad, it’s cold, whatever.
But the other thing is, in Texas in general, a lot of times you don’t have a lot of hills up and down… until you go to these courses and the courses they make or the courses they choose are up and down. When you’re in your neighborhood, it’s not real hilly.
You go to do the 5K, 10K, whatever, it is hilly, but no one’s trained for that. So when they go to the downhill portion, that’s when they really have a lot of trouble because your body never trained for it and you’re getting a totally different group of muscles. Now, you can see this, I’m walking downhill on this treadmill.
Hut: That’s cool, man.
Craig: Pretty cool, right? The other benefit to walking downhill–women, honestly, really love this because what they want is they’re trying to really accentuate their glutes and their hamstrings, and walking downhill actually will elongate that muscle. There’s a reason that I’ve got this. It’s from going downhill. There’s nothing there actually, unfortunately, for me.
Hut: But it’s hard.
Craig: It’s very hard to do. It’s challenging.
Hut: No, your butt’s hard.
Craig: Oh, my butt! I didn’t know what you meant! I was getting uncomfortable. Yes.
Hut: It may be small, but it’s hard, right?
Craig: Yeah, my dad used to say that I was from the Lackabutt Tribe and that really hurt. Dad, if you’re watching, I have to tell you that that hurt my feelings. It still sticks with me today.
Hut: Well, it stuck with you because that’s the first thing that came to your mind.
Craig: Right! But a good product. They’ve done a good job. They really have.
Hut: And actually, it’s solid. It doesn’t look cheap or inexpensive. It’s a good piece of equipment.
Craig: That’s the thing. There have been products out there before like this that have been really cheap, so this is regularly $3,499 and we’re running a big sale on it for $2,499. The quality is good. At $2,500 you’re not going to buy something that’s junk.
Hut: Not at all.
Craig: The other cool thing too, is that they’ve done an awesome job up here as well. It’s actually very interactive. It’s got a lot of virtual programs, like scenery, that it will take you through.
Hut: Right, so it keeps you engaged.
Craig: It’s got the Google Maps stuff on there to walk you through. So you can literally say, Hey, I want to walk from here to your house and it will map that out for you automatically, so that’s pretty cool.
Hut: That’s great. And that’s kind of becoming the standard on a lot of the equipment.
Craig: A lot of the stuff is. We’re trying to just get you a little bit more interactive, either with Google Maps or they have it set up to where, if you’re doing some sort of virtual reality courses, we’re trying to give you scenery.
You can either put that on here… you can also download some of these things on your iPad. So even if people are buying products that don’t necessarily just have this one thing on them, there are a lot of things you can download on your iPad now to see scenery.
Hut: And you have the iPad holder there.
Craig: The iPad holder is right up here, yeah. You can put whatever iPad you want here, you can watch all your stuff here. If you want to, they even have all the iFit stuff built in.
Hut: It’s just so easy. Quick speed.
Craig: Everything is simple. Quick speed here, quick elevation on that stuff, and you just go.
Hut: That’s great. You choose your program and you rock ‘n’ roll.
Craig: There’s a lot of stuff there. It would take us three hours to go through all of the programs. The point is, it’s a durable machine. A lot of elevation, so if you’re looking for something that has that excessive elevation, it’s fantastic for that. We’ve been doing really well with the product. It’s been a lot of fun. And it’s got a fan built in, so when you hit this fan, there are three speeds. It’s called a body fan. This thing will blow you away.
Hut: We’re going to start to need that here pretty quick, this summer.
Craig: I know. Right now we’re doing good. It’s been good.
Hut: It’s been nice.
Craig: So something fun, something different.
Hut: Cool. Well, that’s the NordicTrack, and if you want to come check it out, it’s in all the Busy Body stores, correct?
Craig: It is, yes.
Hut: We’re at Grapevine here, so it’s real easy to get to. They’ve got all the construction done around here.
Craig: We’re past all that.
Hut: It’s a good store to come check out and Brad will take care of you. Right, Brad?
Hut: There you go! All right.
Hut: All right, guys, that’s the NordicTrack. Come check it out and we’ll see you when we see you.
Craig: Yeah, sounds good. Good to see you, Hut.
Hut: All right, man. Good to see you.
